Azerbaijan-U.S. Discuss Strategic Connectivity and Regional Transport Projects

Baku: Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), Ben Black, to discuss the implementation of the TRIPP project, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the meeting focused on the development of Azerbaijan-U.S. cooperation, highlighting opportunities in sectors such as energy, transport-transit, high technologies, and investment. The discussions underscored Azerbaijan's pivotal role in enhancing strategic connectivity between Europe and Central Asia, emphasizing the importance of port and logistics infrastructure, energy security, and regional transport projects.

The meeting also highlighted the significance of the historic Washington summit in 2025, which laid a foundation for expanding bilateral cooperation in various fields including economy, energy, transport connectivity, high technologies, and security. The signing of the Strategic Partnership Charter was welcomed as a means to deepen cooperation in these areas.

The dialogue included a review of the TRIPP project, aimed at ensuring seamless connectivity between mainland Azerbaijan and its Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, as part of regional transport initiatives. The parties also exchanged views on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest, reinforcing the commitment to strengthen ties between Azerbaijan and the United States.
