BAKU: The foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Turkey convened recently to deliberate on measures aimed at normalizing relations with Armenia, amidst discussions on regional security and international cooperation. According to Trend News Agency, the discussions focused on the allied relationship between Azerbaijan and Turkey, as well as cooperation within regional and international organizations. These talks also addressed the current situation in the post-conflict region and broader global security challenges. Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov expressed appreciation to Turkey for facilitating another meeting in the "3+3" format, underscoring the increasing importance of such consultative mechanisms and collaborative efforts in light of the rapidly evolving security landscape both regionally and globally. The meeting emphasized the significance of the strong ties between Azerbaijan and Turkey, alongside their mutual support within regional and international frameworks. Bayramov provided insights into the realities in the region following the conflict and discussed the ongoing normalization process with Armenia. He pointed out that challenges remain in the peace process, particularly regarding Armenia's territorial claims enshrined in its constitution, which continue to be a concern. He noted that Armenia has not systematically addressed these issues. Additionally, the Azerbaijani minister updated his counterpart on preparations for the upcoming 29th session of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29). The meeting reaffirmed Turkey's ongoing support for Azerbaijan's peaceful initiatives in the region and included discussions on other matters of mutual interest.
