Baku: The Board of Peace has announced on its X account that it has officially accepted Azerbaijan as a founding member, APA reports. The post included a special welcome poster dedicated to Azerbaijan, presenting the country as one of the founding members of the Board of Peace. Similar welcome posts were also published for other participating states, indicating that the Board's global network has begun to take shape.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Board of Peace was established on the initiative of U.S. President Donald Trump. The signing ceremony of the Board of Peace Charter, the organisation's main founding document, took place on January 22 within the framework of the World Economic Forum held in Davos. The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, also attended the ceremony and, together with other heads of state and government, signed the founding document. As a result, Azerbaijan became one of the first countries to join the newly established international platform.
The goal of the Board of Peace is to promote dialogue between states, strengthen diplomatic cooperation, and support long-term peace initiatives. The official statements released by the organisation on social media are regarded as its first addresses to the international community. The signing ceremony held in Davos and the subsequent official announcements confirm that Azerbaijan has played an early and significant role in the formation of the Board of Peace, reaffirming the country's position as one of the key partners of this new global initiative.
