The European Court of Human Rights rejected Armenia's request for a temporary guarantee regarding the Lachin road, Representative of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the European Court of Human Rights, Vice-President of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan Chingiz Asgarov told APA.

On July 12, 2023, the European Court of Human Rights completely rejected Armenia's request dated June 21, 2023, in the case of Armenia vs. Azerbaijan regarding the application of temporary security measures.

Thus, the European Court decided that Armenia's request to remove the border control checkpoint was groundless.

The European Court did not determine that the checkpoint obstructed traffic along the Lachin road and violated the Decision of Azerbaijan dated December 21, 2022.
