Baku: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has improved its forecast for Azerbaijan's current account surplus for the year 2026, APA-Economics reports. The revised forecast, which reflects a positive outlook for the country's economic position, sets the current account surplus at 9.7% of GDP for 2026.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the new forecast for 2026 is 7.6 percentage points higher than the IMF's February estimates. For the year 2027, the IMF predicts a current account surplus of 5.4% of GDP, which is an increase of 5 percentage points compared to earlier estimates. These adjustments suggest a more optimistic view of Azerbaijan's economic prospects in the coming years.
