Baku: Azerbaijan's Minister of Energy, Parviz Shahbazov, emphasized the nation's reliability as a key strength in the global energy sector during the first meeting of the Technical Committee of the OPEC+ Charter of Cooperation (CoC) held in Baku.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Shahbazov pointed out that in today's energy landscape, influence is no longer solely determined by production volumes. Instead, secure and diversified supply routes, along with reliable partnerships and uninterrupted energy supplies, are becoming the primary indicators of a country's influence in the energy sector.
The minister elaborated that Azerbaijan's strategic importance is defined by its capacity to create reliable connections between various regions and markets, contributing to the energy security of its partners. This importance is further bolstered by the trust and confidence Azerbaijan has earned as a dependable partner, highlighted by its active participation in the OPEC+ framework.
Shahbazov also addressed key areas of cooperation that are essential for deepening relationships within OPEC+ and tackling future challenges. These include enhancing dialogue with major oil-consuming countries, fostering technology, innovation, and investment in the oil industry, and improving cooperation on regulatory policies. Additionally, he stressed the importance of advancing analytical assessments of the oil market and developing industry standards.
Currently, Azerbaijan exports oil to nearly 20 countries across Europe and Asia. Including condensate, the country's average daily oil production is 553,000 barrels, with exports amounting to 445,000 barrels per day.
