Baku: The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan has approved the “Rules for calculating the amount of fees for airport services and air navigation services provided by service providers”, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the decision outlines the requirements for calculating fees for airport and air navigation services, types of air navigation services, and the fees associated with international flights and domestic air transportation transiting through Azerbaijan’s airspace. The decision also covers fees for landing or taking off from airports within Azerbaijan and specifies the concessions in this area.
The decision exempts certain flights from charges for air navigation services. These exemptions include flights for search and rescue operations, forced landings due to technical problems, training flights, flights checking airport and air navigation technical systems, flights affected by bad weather conditions, and emergency situations threatening civil aviation safety.
In terms of airport services, exemptions are applied in specific cases. These include landing, take-off, and parking services for flights operated by the United Nations, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and flights related to humanitarian aid. Additionally, aircraft performing search and rescue operations, those returning to the airport of departure without landing elsewhere, and aircraft experiencing delays due to bad weather or emergency situations are exempt from airport service charges. Furthermore, aircraft forced to make emergency landings or delayed due to technical problems resulting from aviation incidents are also exempt from parking fees for the duration needed to resolve the issues.
