Turkmenistan Enhances Collaborative Efforts with Eurasian Patent Organization


ASHGABAT: Turkmenistan and the Eurasian Patent Organization (EAPO) have agreed to enhance their cooperative efforts across several sectors, focusing particularly on intellectual property rights and professional training.

According to Trend News Agency, the agreement was reached following discussions between Myakhri Hodjamgulyevna, Turkmenistan’s Deputy Foreign Minister, and Grigory Ivliev, President of the Eurasian Patent Organization. The meeting addressed various strategic initiatives, including the professional development of national staff and the handling of legal matters concerning intellectual property protection.

The discussions also highlighted Turkmenistan’s implementation of its intellectual property system development program for the period 2021-2025. This program is designed to augment the legislative framework governing intellectual property rights in Turkmenistan and ensure its alignment with international standards.

At the culmination of their meeting, both parties reiterated their commitme
nt to fostering a mutually advantageous relationship and underscored the significance of collaborative efforts to realize their shared objectives.

The Eurasian Patent Office, a key component of the EAPO, plays a crucial role in the regional patent system. It is tasked with processing applications, granting patents valid across member countries, conducting searches, examining Eurasian invention applications, and resolving patent-related disputes.
