Azerbaijan Accelerates Urban and Rural Development in Fuzuli with New Housing and Infrastructure Projects


BAKU: A significant urban development initiative in Fuzuli city, Azerbaijan, has seen the settlement of 822 families, totaling 3,132 residents, into newly constructed apartment buildings, according to deputy executive director Sabuhi Abdullayev. Speaking at the Caspian Construction Week in Baku, Abdullayev highlighted the construction of 38 multi-story buildings comprising 846 apartments in Fuzuli’s city center.

According to Trend News Agency, Abdullayev detailed the broader scope of urban planning in Fuzuli, which includes the construction of over 87 kilometers of intra-city roads as per the city’s master plan. He also noted the operational status of significant educational and cultural facilities funded by international partners, including the 960-seat Mirza Ulughbek School No. 1, donated by Uzbekistan, and the Kurmangazy Children’s Creativity Center, a contribution from Kazakhstan.

The development extends beyond the urban center into nearby villages, where restoration and construction are underway. Abdul
layev mentioned the ongoing projects in several villages including the initiation of restoration work in Pirahmadli and the completion of preparatory work in Dovlatyarli village. The latter is slated to be developed under the “smart village” concept, featuring alternative and green energy solutions, with plans for 450 private houses alongside essential public infrastructure like schools and markets.

The Caspian Construction Week, held from October 15 through 17 at the Baku Expo Center, serves as a crucial platform for this announcement, emphasizing regional collaboration and innovation in the construction sector. The event has gathered more than 380 companies from 22 different countries, demonstrating a robust international interest in the construction developments in the region.
