Baku: Azerbaijan and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) have signed a cooperation agreement to prepare for the Third Ministerial Meeting of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Agencies of the OIC Member States, scheduled to be held in Baku on October 27-28. The agreement was signed by Heydar Mammadov, Azerbaijani Deputy Prosecutor General, and Yousef Mohamed AlDobeay, OIC Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Deputy Prosecutor General Mammadov informed the OIC official about Azerbaijan's comprehensive institutional reforms aimed at combating corruption. He emphasized the country's ongoing efforts under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, which have resulted in modernizing the legal framework, increasing transparency, and strengthening accountability within public administration.
The meeting also involved discussions on organizational matters for the upcoming high-level ministerial event. Participants focused on enhancing cooperation and expertise-sharing among OIC member states to strengthen the global fight against corruption. Yousef Mohamed AlDobeay expressed confidence in Azerbaijan's hosting capabilities, noting that the event is expected to bring together over 300 participants and will significantly enhance anti-corruption collaboration across the Islamic world.
