Ankara: Azerbaijan has actively joined international discussions focused on the protection of children within the digital environment. The discussions, which began on April 21, are taking place in Ankara, Turkey's capital.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the two-day high-level event sees Azerbaijan represented by a delegation led by Bahar Muradova, Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women, and Children Affairs. Organized by the Turkish Ministry of Family and Social Services, the discussions bring together representatives from 17 countries.
The primary aim of the event is to study international experiences in safeguarding children's rights in the digital space, to exchange advanced policy ideas, and to bolster international cooperation in this critical area. Key issues under discussion include ensuring children's safety on digital platforms, shielding them from harmful content, and identifying effective mechanisms for their healthy development.
The event features thematic discussions and panel sessions that include participation from representatives of relevant state institutions from different countries alongside experts. A notable session on technology governance and global practices will include insights from representatives of major tech companies such as Microsoft, Meta, and Google, as well as officials from the Turkish Information and Communication Technologies Authority and the T3 Foundation.
Additionally, the event will host a high-level meeting involving ministers from several countries, further highlighting the importance of international collaboration on child protection in the digital realm.
