Khojaly: Azerbaijan has initiated the relocation of former internally displaced persons (IDPs) to several villages within the Khojaly district. This significant move is part of the broader effort to resettle individuals in areas liberated from occupation. The relocation convoys have successfully arrived in the district, marking a new chapter for many families.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the relocation process has, so far, seen 10 families, totaling 33 individuals, moved to the village of Badara. Similarly, 10 families comprising 60 people have been relocated to Tazabina, while 9 families with 33 individuals have settled in the village of Khanabad. Additionally, 4 families with 22 members have moved to Ballija, 4 families with 18 people to Khanyurdu, and 4 families with 13 individuals have relocated to Dashbulag. These families were ceremoniously presented with keys to their new apartments.
Officials from the Special Representation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Khankendi, along with representatives from the Aghdara and Khojaly districts and the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons, attended the relocation ceremony. The phased return of former IDPs is part of the ongoing Great Return program, which aims to facilitate the resettlement of people to their ancestral lands. The next convoy has already been dispatched to continue this resettlement initiative in the Khojaly district villages.
