Tashkent: Strategic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan is developing, Advisor to the President of Uzbekistan on Foreign Policy Abdulaziz Kamilov said, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Kamilov attributed the strengthening ties to the robust brotherly relations established between the presidents of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. He emphasized that there is cooperation and trust at the highest level, which has led to strategic relations. The collaboration extends beyond political ties to include economic cooperation and active participation in the humanitarian sphere, connecting the two major regions of Central Asia and the Caucasus. Kamilov highlighted the significant role of Azerbaijan and President Ilham Aliyev in fostering this relationship.
Kamilov also pointed out that this growing cooperation could lead to the creation of a new geopolitical space. He stated, "As a result, it is possible to form a new geopolitical space connecting Central Asia and the South Caucasus." This vision is supported by agreements reached with the President of Azerbaijan during the summit of Central Asian states.
The adviser noted that there is already a mutual understanding on the issue, achieved during the visit of the President of Azerbaijan and his participation in the Central Asia summit. He mentioned that the countries in the region now share common approaches on a variety of important regional and global issues, not just among five states, but with the inclusion of a sixth, which marks a positive development. Kamilov concluded by emphasizing the shared unified approach with Azerbaijan on many significant regional and global processes.
