TASHKENT — Uzbekistan has reported a robust increase in its industrial production, with enterprises manufacturing products worth approximately 435.2 trillion soums ($34.5 billion) from January to July 2024.
According to Trend News Agency, reported by Trend, this represents a 26.3 percent increase from the previous year, where the output was valued at 345 trillion soums ($2.4 billion) during the same period in 2023. The manufacturing industry continues to be the cornerstone of this growth, contributing products worth 361.6 trillion soums ($28.7 billion). Other significant contributors include the mining and quarrying industries, as well as the sectors of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply.
Regionally, Tashkent city led in industrial production, accounting for 82.8 trillion soums ($6.5 billion). It was closely followed by the Navoi and Tashkent regions, with outputs of 75.4 trillion soums ($5.9 billion) and 70.6 trillion soums ($5.6 billion), respectively. This geographical distribution highlights the widespread industrial activity across the country, underpinning Uzbekistan’s ongoing economic growth.
